Your privacy rights
You can ask us what DADDY holds about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. This page explains how to ask and what happens next.
What you can ask for
- To know what information we hold about you, and where it came from.
- A copy of it, in a file you can keep and read elsewhere.
- To have something corrected if we have it wrong.
- To have your account and the information attached to it deleted.
- To ask us to reconsider, if we turn a request down.
Which of these you are entitled to depends on where you live. Ask anyway — we will tell you what we can do, and if we cannot do something we will say why.
Deleting your account does not empty every record. Some things outlive it: financial records the law requires us to keep, currently for seven years and held without your identity attached; safety and moderation records about characters you published; our own administrative record that the deletion happened, currently kept for three years; and a hashed copy of your email address, so that we never email you again. The delete screen and the email we send you say the same thing. This page says it too, because you may never see either.
If you have paid us for anything, one more record outlives your account, and it is worth being specific about. We keep a short list of purchase-verification details — the network address the purchase came from, an identifier for the browser it was made in, a scrambled copy of the email address on the account, and the payment processor's own reference numbers — for 24 months, and then they are destroyed. Twenty-four months is roughly how long a bank can take to raise a dispute about a payment, and answering one is the only thing these details are for: nothing in the app reads them, they are never used to profile you or to advertise to you, and the deletion happens on a timer whether or not you ever ask us for anything. The money side of that record — what was paid, and when — is what we keep for seven years for tax, without your identity attached to it.
How to make a request
Email privacy@daddy.obscuravela.com. Someone reads that mailbox. Tell us what you are asking for, and — if you have an account — write from the email address on it, which is the fastest way for us to know it is you. Please do not attach identity documents to a first email; we will tell you if we need anything.
If you have an account and you want it deleted, you do not need to write to us at all: you can delete it yourself from your profile.
What happens next
We will acknowledge your request within 10 days of receiving it, and tell you then when to expect an answer. If it is going to take longer than we said, we will write to you and explain why.
A copy of your data is put together by a person here and sent to you through a download link that only you can open. There is no self-service download button yet. A prepared copy stays available for 24 hours; if it expires before you fetch it, ask us and we will make another.
Proving it is you
These requests move real data, so we check who is asking before we act. For an account holder that usually means a one-time code sent to the email address on the account, or simply being signed in. If you are asking on someone else's behalf, we will need their written authorisation. We ask for the least that will settle the question, and we use whatever you send only to answer the request.
It costs you nothing
Making a request is free, and making one does not change how your account is treated.
